Context
The Advanced Training Program in Business Intelligence aimed to develop practical and analytical skills in Business Intelligence (BI), focusing on data processing, modeling, and visualization using the Power BI tool.
Aimed at professionals from the Oeste Intermunicipal Community (Oeste CIM), the program trained participants to apply BI techniques in decision-making and data management at the municipal and intermunicipal levels.
Challenge
To strengthen the analytical capacity of municipal administrations by providing practical experience in the use of Business Intelligence tools and the development of data-driven projects.
Objectives
- Understand Business Intelligence concepts, architectures, and ecosystems
- Apply data engineering and modeling techniques
- Develop dashboards and analytical reports in Power BI
- Execute a practical BI project, from conception to final presentation
Structure
Intensive five-day program combining theoretical modules and applied project work:
- Introduction to Business Intelligence – Power BI fundamentals and project kickoff
- Data Engineering – Understanding data and using Power Query
- Data Modeling – Data warehousing and dimensional modeling
- Data Visualization – DAX and report building
- Project Presentation – Development and final presentation of BI projects
Pedagogical model
Practice-oriented learning, combining lectures, guided exercises, and project-based assessment, with a strong focus on the immediate application of the knowledge acquired.
Results
High engagement and completion rate, with residual absenteeism (only two absences recorded).
The program received a very positive evaluation from participants, with an average satisfaction score of 4.54/5, and a maximum evaluation (5/5) from trainers.
